Hey everyone, Vishesh here. I hope you're all having a very relaxing holiday season and are taking in some good entertainment. I know it's been a while since I've posted anything in the way of compelling criticism, but my hiatus from the keyboard is now over! I'm back and I'm kicking with a review of James Cameron's new science-fantasy epic, Avatar. If you want to check it out, you know where to go.
From all of us at TeenMontreal, have an awesome holiday and we'll see you all next year.
Hey guys, Daniel here. So, yes, we haven't uploaded a new video since the Jailbreak video. We make empty promises, and I am DONE with that.
So, I wasn't lying about having a couple vlogs filmed, and other reviews in the works. We also DO have the first episode of the Web Series filmed.
So, we don't LIE to you, we just don't DELIVER on time. The truth is, living alone from home means I need to balance work (Starbucks) and school (Dawson) with enough time for homework and fun so I don't take a gun and pull the trigger, releasing the deadly force of the bullet into my thin skull, blasting fragments of my head on to the wall, where the blood will slowly drip down and stain my beautiful carpet.
I don't want a stained carpet.
I will try to update the blog more frequently though, and my career is videos, so THERE WILL BE MORE VIDEOS. I actually have to make videos for assignments, so those shorts will be uploaded to our channel for your viewing pleasure. I'm also pretty sure that December break will yield many videos.
Um...hey guys. (Obviously, by "guys" I mean whoever happens to be actually reading this blog...however small or large that number may be.)
So, we've pretty much come out and said it: we've been having some difficulties with production due to the fact that we've...well...had a bit of a slump in motivation. Thankfully, it is not the same as that lovely little affliction known as writer's block, the creative and artistic equivalent of erectile dysfunction. But we are working harder than before and we will have our first vlog up (hopefully) very soon, once the intro's done. Yes, we are going to have fancy intros even for our vlogs. Because we are just that awesome, even though it is sometimes difficult for us to...er...perform.
And speaking of awesomeness, Daniel showed this to me just yesterday, and I seem to be having some difficulty with resisting the urge to watch it again and again:
ALL IN ONE TAKE. And this is right from our very own city, folks. We are indeed capable of great things...
Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you. Have a good one, and hang in there! We'll put out...we promise!
As Daniel wrote earlier, we are indeed very busy trying to obtain kick-ass equipment, write scripts and find time to shoot the first episode of our show (among other things). And for that, we apologize. So, to tide you over, here's my review of Quentin Tarantino's newest blockbuster film for you, now available for reading! We're going to follow it up with a video review very soon, and once Daniel finds the time to go see District 9, we'll be reviewing that together as well. And of course, the first episode of "Two and a Half Wizards" will be underway just as soon as we can get our hands on those DVX cameras. Trust us, you will not be disappointed.
Again, we apologize for the delay and we hope you understand. Enjoy!
We're sorry. We are very busy though and upgrading equipment, writing scripts, and hiring actors. As Vishesh wrote, we have a new text review online and we'll soon be filming a follow-up. Also expect a review on Inglorious Basterds soon, and once again, the web series.
We've been pushing it back because an opportunity for DVX cameras has arisen, so we wanna use them and give you guys "TV" quality.
Just to let you all know that my review of District 9 is now up for reading! Keep your eyes peeled for another video review and the very first episode of our new webseries, which will be up soon!
Been a while since I updated you fellows. This is what's going down now at TeenMontreal.
1) We've released our first Tech episode (Jailbreaking tutorial - n00b proof)
2) We're editing a vlog episode.
3) We're filming another Tech episode.
4) We finished scripting the first 2 episodes of the web series which will be called "Two and a Half Wizards"
5) We've cast the web series (Jonathan Bosco, Vishesh Abeyratne, Daniel Dahlberg)
6) We're introducing a Game Reviews section very soon.
7) Our next film review will be on 'District 9'
Make sure to rate & and subscribe to our videos on YouTube, it means a lot. Even if you hate it, please rate it, it's like constructive criticism for us.
Update: We're currently in the middle of editing our first Tech Show. I'm meeting with our main scriptwriter Vishesh tomorrow to finalize the script for the web series, so that is also somewhat on schedule.
Here is our first video review; this one is about Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince. The reason we decided to review this films is because we've watched and listened to other "professional" reviews, and all of them sound as if they have never read the series.
Well, we have, especially Daniel, and he gets passionate.
Hey guys, we need to explain the lack of videos. We have 2 finished and fully edited at the moment but seeing as we just moved we're still waiting on internet in the house. It's going to be set up between 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. EST on this Friday. As soon as it is up and running, we'll start uploading videos again!
So, to keep you updated, we have four different shows we'll be working on simultaneously.
1) Web series (1 episode per week)
2) TM Tech (1 episode per week)
3) Film reviews (Sporadically)
4) TM Vlogs (Probably often, but no exact schedule)
We have one film review completed and also one video blog.
Well ladies and gents, we have arrived. The TeenMontreal productions team has finally settled in to the new studio (which also happens to be our new house).
Three of us; TJ, Justin and myself have finally taken our first true steps towards total, absolute independence and have established residence in the upstairs of a duplex in Montreal.
This is good news for you because it means all three of us are together to film videos, edit them and manipulate them as a team a lot more efficiently. We have three projects in the works, and I hope you guys will see the results of our hard work very soon, with a video review of Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince being the first video to be released.
After that we have a Tech Show in the works and a webseries so stay tuned!
Just wanted to let you know that the Film Reviews blog has officially been de-virginized. My written review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is finally up and available for reading. Enjoy!
Hey guys, quick update. While we work on video reviews of movies we've seen, we've also added a new section to the blog called "Film Reviews".
All of us can contribute to it, but I think Vishesh is going to make that blog his bitch. Enjoy reading his insightful commentaries on movies!
I think Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is first up :P
In other news, the web series is still being scripted but we're making good progress. We still hope to have the pilot episode out in 2 weeks time, but if not, then it should absolutely be released within the month of August, and once the pilot episode is out, expect a new episode every week, on the same day at the same time.
KIND OF LIKE REAL TV!!!! OMFG.
Question of the day: What did YOU think about Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince?
So, some of you have probably been wondering what we're up to, and why the video flow has slowed down.
We're currently learning how to use Adobe After Effects CS4, so that we can provide stunning motion graphics for our NEW webseries!
Yes, we have a new series in the works, and we intend to publish 12 videos over the course of 12 weeks! A full season of videos! We don't want to disclose what the series is about yet as it will be a surprise, but expect to see the first episode in the next week or two.
Not only that, but we're excited to announce our other two shows.
1) TeenMontreal Tech (TM-Tech. You've probably noticed the link at the top of this blog which links you to the TM-Tech blog, where you can find naffy tutorials (such as how to jailbreak your iPhone/iTouch for n00bs.) We will have a weekly tech show on the TeenMontreal YouTube channel VERY SOON.
2) Movie Reviews. There will soon be a section for this on the blog as well, but we will be posting periodic film reviews in VIDEO FORMAT (freak out!) on the YouTube channel soon too. The first review will be of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince because we here at TeenMontreal feel that popular video reviews such as IGN have been giving inaccurate reviews.
Also, here is one of the credits for all of the videos that TJ and I have worked on for a VERY LONG TIME.
Hey guys, just letting you know that I've already taken the bull by the horns and put up my first tutorial on the TM Tech site. This one is a complete guide to jailbreaking so if you've got an iPod touch or an iPhone, take a look.
Hey dudes(ettes). As some of you may be aware, I've been chillin' in Hong Kong for the past month. I'm now entering the final two weeks of my stay here and so far have published three "documentary" style videos on the YouTube channel, and hope to have made at least two to three more by the time I step on the plane back to good ol' Montreal.
I witnessed one of the stranger things in my life today as I was heading back "home". The sky was as blue and as cloudless as it could be and it was raining! But right next to this were really dark clouds and NO rain at all! I tried to bring out my camera to film this, but it stopped as quickly as it had begun. I did manage to get a nice picture of the aftereffect though, it was quite nice.
I'm working on a 4th Hong Kong Diary, so expect to see it soon!
Hey everyone. It looks like it's my turn to introduce myself to you. I'm TJ, as Daniel said I've known him for a while, but we only got close through college. I will be the techie of this operation seeing as Daniel cant operate a toaster. I will also be acting as the audio "expert" to make sure that none of our videos will deafen you too much.
A lot of us at TeenMontreal are gamers, myself included. I play CS:S regularly and a tad of L4D and COD4/5. I also enjoy tinkering around with all the technology that I can get my hands on. For this reason I will have my own section in this team, where I'll show you guys all the best hacks and tricks that i come across.
Anyways, Daniel told me to be myself, and that means that I'm already bored of writing this post and intend to dig up some new exiting music. I look forward to seeing where all this goes.
Anthony TJ
P.S. Daniel shall now be known as Dahlberg in all of my future posts
Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of wealth and taste. I've been around for a long, long year...well, not really. In fact, I only just had the honor of joining this team today.
Well, Daniel's already given you a lot of the info about us as a whole, so I'll keep this brief. I am Vishesh, also known as V, and I am the color you want your toast to be. I am one of the right-hand men on TeenMontreal. I'm one of the scriptwriters/idea generators on the team. You may also see me in a few videos from time to time, depending on what they entail. In the meantime, I'll be writing and publishing several things on this blog in addition to my assistance with our...digital contributions.
And that's pretty much it for now. Hope to see you subscribe!
If you found this blog, well done. We thank you. At the time this is being written, about ten people know of our existence. I think it's crucial we establish our primary goal first.
The Primary Goal:
1) Become known.
That is the objective. Now, it's time to establish who we are and what we do. Yours truly is Daniel Dahlberg. Just call me Daniel, I'm not one for formalities. You can also call me Double D, but I assure you, my breasts are A's.
I am the founder of TeenMontreal. TeenMontreal is our little company that we publish our awe-inspiring, world-changing films.
In case you found this blog by means other than YouTube, our channel is www.youtube.com/teenmontreal
I'll properly introduce myself later, but let me quickly name my counterparts who will also be posting on this blog.
1) TJ - TJ and I met in high school but our friendship "blossomed" when we both found ourselves in the same college.
2) Justin - Justin and I also met in high school, but we're in the same grade, and thus have never lost contact for over a month or so.
3) Vishesh - Vishesh is one of my right-hand men. You don't want to know which hand I jack off with, but we also met in high school.
We make up the incredibly fantastic/awesome/inspiring/magnificent/too-good-for-your-eyes team of TeenMontreal.
We hope you follow us on this blog and on our YouTube channel and while I do exaggerate, we really do appreciate your finding us and subscribing (hopefully). We only wish to entertain those who seek entertainment, and please leave a comment if you have any ideas on how we can do so.
Meow.
If you are interested, here's our first sketch. Maybe over time it will look stupid and amateurish. We hope so. Consider that.
